First day

You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you’re still one body. It’s exactly the same with Christ. By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain—his Spirit—where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves—labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free—are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

These verses carry a lot of punch almost every line contains a usable quote. As I sit here typing this I directly face my team mate Genna and sit across from my team mate Trinity all of us equally exhausted from the international flight and the enjoying the peaceful conclusion of our first day in Honduras. Many of you had been told that I left the 14th, which is true, technically, I left on the 14th but was still in the states for two days of team building. Team building is one of those inevitable things that every kid that grew up in church has taken part of, but if you think about it God tells that team building is important too. Just like the verse says on our own without trusting in God, or our team, we’re on our own and call our own shots. In order for a team to work we have to let Him have complete control and final say in everything. Something much easier said than done but in reality you can truly trust others if you don't trust God The girls on my team are all very different and it's hard sometimes not compare myself to the others. I’ve only been a christian for about a year and half and I constantly have to battle with the thought of am I a good enough christian enough to be on this trip. Once open up that door then I start spiralling with those thought of well i'm not as good at speaking in spanish as Mitchelle is, or I’m not as confident as Ally but in reality isn't it great that God put this perfect mix of people together you can't have a functional body if it's just a bunch of ears. That analogy is weird but it's true I’m different and that difference is what makes me me and that difference is what makes me a benefit to this team.
