Just two weeks ago I arrived in Gainesville, Georgia at the Adventures In Missions headquarters. We spent a few days with the leaders of the Semesters trips, training and preparing and praying. Two of my squad mates are also leading Semesters trips, and we got to meet 4 other girls who are leading. We all got to stay in a little house together and wow was it a blast. Lots of games, shared meals, late night chats.
One afternoon, to take a little break, we took a surprise trip to a roller-skating rink! After an intense game of tag, I was thoroughly bruised, sore, and refreshed.
Jeremy (my old squad mentor), Josh (old squad mate), Sarah, Kelly (my co-leader!), Taylor, Liz, me, and Morgan (old squad mate) - my people, my friends.

Then the racers arrived for Training Camp! They jumped head first into worship, training sessions, and getting to know the 10 strangers that would soon become family. Training Camp was overwhelming in every way. We got to see Holy Spirit move, our souls were filled through worshipping the Lord, and we got to connect and begin the journey that we hope will change lives.

We said goodbye to the States and hopped on a flight to Ecuador!

This is my team. We are still trying to come up with a name...the option floating around right now is "Team Alti-tooties" because Quito sits at 10,000 feet above sea-level and...you can figure out the rest. They are a laughy bunch with big hearts and deep desires to know the Lord more and serve Him humbly.

We've been here for less than a week and I've already seen vulnerability, revelations, and growth. The Lord is stirring in all of our hearts, and He has a mighty plan made out for each person these next three months.
Please be praying for these sweet, sweet people. Pray against any thought of comparison or performance. Pray that Holy Spirit would lead us to develop deep relationships, have healthy conversations about hard things, and have eyes to see each other like He does.
Sending hugs and prayers back to the States!
Much love,
Em
