The weeks have flown by with such sweet ministry days. What we do varies so much from day to day. It makes it so exciting and fun! This past week consisted of coloring with pastels, teaching English, playing soccer with kids, and ATL.
This week during ATL, we talked to a bunch of people. We had a translator with us, which was very helpful. Interestingly enough, I mostly understand what people say in Spanish, but I have trouble speaking it back. This is where the translator was so helpful. Anyway, so we walked around talking to people, and then we stopped for a bit. We were talking to a friend from soccer, and then a guy came up to us. He started speaking English, and we were all taken aback. We started talking about random stuff, and then he asked what we were doing in Guatemala. We shared that we were missionaries, and his response was: “Okay, then tell me about God.” We each went around and shared something. I was able to share part of my testimony and how good God is! The conversation was so sweet, and he was so receptive. This was such a God moment!
Along with sweet conversations, I have been able to pray for people. Coming into the race, I was very uncomfortable praying out loud, and now it is happening more often, so I am not as uncomfortable.
The other day I was brought to a flower stand. I bought pretty flowers, and I loved them so much! They were purple and in a beautiful bouquet. Then I realized that the flowers were not for me. I started walking and came across my favorite drink place that makes the best strawberry smoothies. I went in to get a drink and realized the flowers were for her. I gave her the flowers, and she started tearing up out of pure joy. It was such a special time!
Ministry is so sweet, and I am happy that I have the hosts that I do. I get to do kids ministry, make popcorn, play sports, color, and plan the school curriculum. I love my ministries so much!
This week we will be moving to Parramos for two weeks. We will be staying with our ministry host during those weeks and we will get to see a new side of the ministry. I am so excited about the next two weeks, and I cannot wait to share them with you!
