As I was in my quiet time a few days ago, Isaiah 46:9-10 stuck out to me. These verses show God’s sovereignty and goodness through His plans for us. Isaiah 46:9-10 says, “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell the future before it happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”
These verses are so good and have so much in them! I got so much from these verses, and they related to a message we heard. I’m so excited to share what God has been teaching me!
First of all, God has done so much for us! He has brought us through so much and loved us at our worst. He sent His only son to die on the cross for our sins! I will never get over how gracious and good God is! God is one and only, and He is worthy of praise!
Second, verse 10 talks about only God being able to tell the future. The other day we heard a message on God being the God of the in-between. He’s faithful when He makes promises, while we wait for them to be fulfilled, and after they are fulfilled. God knows the future and that the promises He makes will come to fruition.
Along with only God being able to tell the future, the speaker related it to satan. Satan will use your past and pain from that because that is all he has access to. Satan doesn’t have access to the future, so he doesn’t even know if his schemes will work. He will get you stuck in the past and not living in God's plans in the moment. But God is so good and has already defeated him!
God has a plan even when we do not. We should turn to Him for future plans instead of trying to do it alone. God has the best plan in our best interest, so we should run to Him for the future. He is so faithful and worthy of praise!
To God be all the glory forever!
