We finished training camp!! Us guys on our squad along with a combination of other squads left Adventures in mission. To go to Kentucky to help with flood relief by partnering with Samaritan’s purse.
I was so happy and eager to help these people. In a way that God has gifted me. Such as helping rebuild roofs and decks along with gutting out houses. The best part of that had nothing at all to deal with the manual labor, but all to do with the people we came in contact with. The first week we were there we meet a brother and sister from Wisconsin which was awesome that part alone. The special thing about these people were not that they were from Wisconsin, but that God had put them in our teams life to make an impact. Let me tell you they made an impact and lived us so well. As a team we were also able to pour into them, and give them reassurance that there is hope in our sinful world.
The second week was totally different from the first. Where the first week we were doing a ton of manual labor, and the second week we did way more just straight up evangelism. Which was so cool to see the fruit of that. People came to Christ we were able to baptize a man. Which is one of the coolest things I have ever been apart of. God did so many amazing things in those two. It can’t be expressed in any other way except that the trip was God willed.
After those two weeks in Samaritan’s purse. We went back to Georgia for week of debrief. Where we spent that time talking to one another about what went on the past two weeks. We also had teachings that helped us be prepared for the field. There was ample time to have one on ones with our couches and leaders. Which was so amazing to have those conversations. This also was a time for our squad to really bond with one another and become untied.
Once that week came to an end all the remaining squads left for their first country. Ours being Guatemalan. We got in a van and drove to the airport, and took two plane rides to get down here in Guatemala. Now we are here to serve the Guatemalan people, and bring our Heavenly Father’s love.
