Intimacy with the Lord

Hey guys, I hope you are doing well.  These past two weeks have been good and I have seen God move.  I am getting to know the community better here and have been able to start building deeper relationships.  These past two weeks we have been learning how we can walk in deeper intimacy with God and walk with authority.  I wish you all could have heard the activation lesson last Thursday on Intimacy with God.  In the season I am in I am learning how to become more intimate with God and you can too.

My personal relationship is growing with God by learning how to become more intimate with God, and it is something that you can work on wherever you are in your relationship with Him.  Long before I came here I have read my Bible, prayed, and worshiped the Lord but I am learning how to use these things in deeper ways for my relationship to grow with Him.  We have been talking about how you should not do these things just to check off a box but to seek the Lord by talking to Him, Listening to Him, and being in His presence.  My prayer life has grown in the past few weeks because I am praying to God like normal but also when I pray I have been reading scripture to God to tell Him how good He is and how thankful I am for Him.  We have been discussing the “secret place” which is where you get in a quiet space where you are not distracted by anything and all you are focused on is the Lord.  If I could say one thing to you about what I have been learning is that when you are reading your Bible or anything you do in life, don’t just do it to check off a box but do it with intentionality and desiring to know God better.

Another thing I have been learning is walking in authority.  We need to walk in confidence in knowing who God is and walk in faith.  Once you're saved you have the Holy Spirit in you which is the spirit of God.  You should walk in confidence if you are a Christian because the living God is inside of you.  Because of that you need to walk in faith and step out even when it is uncomfortable because God wants you too.  I have been in some uncomfortable situations and doing things I have not experienced which is making me grow in my faith.

A crazy testimony from the past two weeks and something I have never experienced before is this.  Justin, me, and my ministry leader were walking through a town called Parramos and our ministry leader said “hey I know this guy let’s go talk to him”.  We met this guy named Alexandera who was on crutches with a broken ankle from falling in the shower.  We ended up praying for healing over this man and then he walked with no pain or crutches.  It is one of the craziest things I have ever witnessed.  God is a miracle worker and praying over people and for others is powerful.

My biblical worldview is growing because it is honestly hard to believe that God could do such things as heal people by me or anybody else praying over them.  I am learning more about the spiritual gift and asking God to show me what is of Him and what is not.  Doing this has really challenged my faith because I don’t fully understand it all.  My view of God is changing by seeing that God is bigger than I can imagine or even comprehend.

Pray for me and my team as we are leaving tomorrow to go to the jungle to a place called Peten.  Our group is lucky to get this opportunity because many groups do not get to go here because it is 10 hours away.  I love you guys and thank you all for supporting me.  I pray that you will seek and abide in the Lord.  Learning intimacy with God will carry you into a deeper relationship with Him.
