I have gotten off to an exciting start this week! I have met with my fundraising team and had the opportunity to share my plan with a church who wants to join and support me in this mission. I also have my support letter ready to go and will be mailing those this weekend. Take a minute to read it below.
Dear Family and Friends,
I write with great excitement to share with you what God is doing in my life. As you may already know, I am graduating in just a few short months. While most of my peers are busy exploring college options, I felt the Lord stirring something a little different inside of me. Over the years my amazing parents have made it a priority to take me to church. I have attended youth group at Green Sea Baptist Church since I was old enough to attend. I have attended several youth camps and conferences but where I felt the greatest impact was when I was serving my community through various outreach opportunities and serving others while on short-term mission trips. I have already felt the need to share The Good News of Jesus Christ with everyone that I come in contact with. Through my life experience with missions and my intense desire to share the Gospel, it only makes sense that God would call me to serve His people. I have decided to take the first year after High School and dedicate it to doing just that. The best part of all of this is that I want you to be a part of it. There are three ways that you can help! (1) You can donate to my mission work (2) You can join my fundraising team by helping me organize and seek fundraiser opportunities (3) You can pray for the work God is calling me to be a part of.
I plan to leave in August 2022 and return home in May 2023. I will be serving in Guatemala, Romania, and South Africa alongside 30 other students that were inspired to say YES to Jesus! We will spend time in orphanages, villages, and church communities, spreading the Gospel, organizing Bible Schools, teaching English, growing gardens, organizing sports ministry, and caring for people all along the way.
Prayer is a crucial part of my journey. I cannot do this without prayer. Psalm 145:18 tells us that The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on him in truth. I want to be near to the Lord and I also want you to be near to the Lord. I ask that you pray that I will stay close to Him and that He will protect me, guide me, strengthen me, and most importantly, give me opportunities to share Him with others. Also, pray for my family as this will be hard for them.
