"Is this the real life, or is this just fantasy?" Is it actually possible that we have made it to Day 30 of our month-long blogging challenge?!! Do you know what this means??? WE DID IT!! If you are reading this post and it was published on September 30th, it means that I posted one blog a day for the ENTIRE month of September. How on earth was it possibly possible you may ask... Well dear friend it was in no way an easy feat, but with guidance from the Holy Spirit, encouragement and support from my friends and family, and lots of help when it came to ideas and prompts as far as what to write went, it was so incredibly worth it. If you have read all of my posts for the month of September, I honestly cannot thank you enough! If you haven't had a chance to do so just yet, don't fret because you can find and read each and every one of them by going to the home page of my blog. We're down to the final countdown of me getting ready to head to launch for The World Race as there are now just 5 days to go. Seeing as today was a special day on account of it being the final day of my blogging challenge, it's only fitting that today ended the month with a bang and gave me one of the absolute BEST days I've had in quite some time. Wanna hear about it...
This morning I had the incredible honor of helping to lead worship with some of my very best friends! Being able to lift up praises to my Papa and share my love of singing that God has gifted me with was such a complete and utter joy. You see I haven't sang in front of anyone publicly for quite some time because I began to let fear and lies from the enemy stand in my way of sharing something that God gave me a passion for. I knew that God had given me this gift for a reason and that He was asking me to share it, so when the opportunity arose for me to do so, as nervous as it made me, I said "YES!" Am I SO incredibly glad I did because I truly cannot express to you all just how much it blessed me. I may have been nervous when I first got up on that stage, but everyone and everything quickly faded away as I began making a joyful noise for my Papa and Him alone! I was singing to and for Him, and my heart couldn't have been happier or more fulfilled in that moment!
After church this morning, some of my very FAVORITE people in the world threw me a "Going Away Shower." It was such a sweet time of prayer, fellowship, and lots and lots of laughs! I loved getting to just hang out and chat with people who I have grown to know and love over the years. Knowing I will have these incredible individuals praying on my behalf and for the sake of my squad/team while we're gone means more to me than I can adequately express; such a true and utter blessing!
The day ended with a huge celebration thrown by my amazing mom and dad. People wrote me Christmas cards, cards to open on my birthday, and cards for days in between. We celebrated the New Year and the Fourth of July with sparklers. I even was able to blow out candles to celebrate an early (like 6 month early) 25th birthday. My mom thought through each and everything that I will miss while I'm away on The Race and made it so that we could celebrate all of those holidays and milestones tonight with my family and closest friends! Getting to spend quality time with those who truly mean so much to me made me feel loved and valued beyond measure. I have such a phenomenal support system surrounding me here at home, and it is truly something I pray I will never take for granted. The outpouring of love and kindness I was shown today has me beaming from ear to ear as I write this. I couldn't feel more blessed or thankful!
As cliché as it may sound, I genuinely feel like today has me living out the quote "THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, and BLESSED!!" All my love,
-Meagan
