This past weekend I attended my first apologetics conference and I absolutely LOVED it! I learned more about how to defend harder topics using biblical evidence and my faith. Some specific topics that we learned more about were stages of suffering, how to overcome doubt, homosexuality, and the transgender community, the reason for our faith, and how being a Christian can be an inconvenience sometimes, but it's so worth it!

A couple of things really stuck out to me about this conference. One was the phrase, "God gives you hard situations because he knows you can handle them" which is false. God has permitted certain suffering to enter our lives but will use the suffering to lead us to a better end in our lives.  Another thing that stuck out to me was that Christianity is harder than not being a Christian because we always have a "little God" on our shoulders telling us the right decision when we might be fighting the wrong one also. That being said, I'd rather be stuck in an inconvenient truth rather than an inconvenient lie. This helped me understand why my non-Christian friends make the decisions they do, and that's because they don't have the little God on their shoulders to tell them what not to do.

I cannot wait to continue learning about these things by talking to others, attending other conferences, and reading books to grow my faith deeper and become stronger to defend it when the time comes! This conference helped me realize some of the things that I may experience while on the trip, and how to tell them that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light of this world!
