¡Feliz Cumpleñaos a ti!

I’m back at school again! If you read my last blog post, you know that my ministry works with a small school for the disabled. On most days, I will help kids with a craft or teach them a little bit of English. One of the days I went to ministry, I got to celebrate Memita’s birthday! She is one of the girls at the school who I  teach and have loved getting to know. She always has this huge smile on her face every time...

The school and the dream

Sorry it has taken me so long to write another blog post! Being in Guatemala has been so cool and I have loved being in a new country! The culture and the people are so kind and I have loved getting to see where God is already moving! Each day that I go to ministry, a part of the team goes to a school for disabled kids in Chimaltenango. Each time I go, God reveals more of his character to me and introduces me to his ...

The gardener

These past few days have flown by since our squad has landed in Guatemala! It is so beautiful here! I plan to make a post in the future about how everything is going in Guate, but I would love to talk about the trip the J and K Squad girls made before we left the country. We went to Black Mountain, North Carolina; a small mountain town with beautiful views and a welcoming community. The first day of ministry, our tea...

Talking with my father

We just had a session about prayer, and it taught me so much about how I pray and how I can pray in new ways. Listening to this session, it really changed my viewpoint of prayer and how I can use it to grow closer to God...

God's truth for us

Training camp has been the most amazing and challenging thing I think I’ve ever done. Coming into this, I thought that training camp would be a breeze. I could not be more wrong. I have learned so much more about myself in a week than I have learned in 18 years of life. One thing I have learned is about truth. God’s truth. What God thinks about me is the only thing that matters. For me, I love being around people,...

Training for the race...

Before I considered World Race, I signed up for a mission trip with my youth group to go to Croatia. All I knew going in was that we were hosting a camp for teenagers there. I was so excited to go, but didn't know exactly what it was going to be like. I have just gotten back, and I was so encouraged by the experience. It's made me even more excited for what is coming up with World Race.  In Croatia, my youth group...

Why in the world would you do the World Race?

Why am I going on world race? Honestly, that's a great question.  Ever since I was a little kid, I was always wanting to find the next big thing and trying the newest thing. It was always "what's next mommy?" My family can tell you with great confidence that I am definitely out of the house more than I'm in it. I love it that way. Being able to explore with my family and friends has always been a blessing. I've al...
