Pictures from Cambodia Pt 1.
As I sat down to write this blog post, I opened in prayer and really felt a nudge to not worry about typing out the right words or a good story today. Instead I felt like I needed to simply put out some of the pictures from my time here in Cambodia so far. I hope you enjoy this post with the short stories and backgrounds about the pictures. (Also I will definitely be a part 2 to this because there are several photos that I don’t have access to yet).
This photo shows me in the village with a little kid. He was the most energetic, fun kid to be around, and it was so funny how he would just talk to me for so long, over and over again when I had no idea what he was saying. He was also very receptive and learned some English with my team just being around him for a day. (Also this was in the village we went into with our tuk tuk driver on our first day of ministry.)
This photo shows me making french fries at the house of the man we have been teaching English with here at our new ministry site. He invited us over and we ended up going and buying the stuff to make fried chicken and french fries. We shared this with the teacher’s family and they shared their snails with us. We have had an amazing opportunity to spend a lot of time with him and we have been pouring into him and trying to show him Jesus in all we do.
This photo shows me playing basketball at the end of the day after we teach our last class. It is a lot of fun and it has also opened up opportunities to build relationships with some of the students who play and know English.
This photo shows me teaching about American culture. Here I was talking about our food, and the different impact that various regions have had on the country’s food as a whole. I was also talking about influences from other countries and where those immigrants entered the country and spread their culture’s food.
