blog from 1/30/2022-

I'm sitting here right now doing my homework and this was placed on my mind so I thought I'd share with you all! I'm in a lot of classes that require extended reading, and a lot of them are tied together with topics of worldly distress. Poverty, oppression, racism, disease, war, the list truly does go on and on. I often feel very brought down by these readings because they are so true and the reality is, we live in a very broken world with broken systems and broken people. Taking a break from my reading to process the passage I looked around and noticed the sun coming in through the window. It was hitting a gift that one of my friends got me for Christmas, a picture of me and her that I have sitting on the windowsill. I looked over to the other side and there is another gift that a different friend got me, and it is so special to me. Not only these things, the sun coming in my apartment was so beautiful and was hitting the windows and walls in all the right spots. This small reminder sent me into such a greater recognition of the goodness of God. In the moment that the heaviness of the world affected me, I looked up and was reminded of the amount of good that is placed in my life and the vast goodness that God has in store for us. He is greater than the world, the brokenness, and most of all, greater than us. My hope in this moment is that you take a break, look around, and take note of how God is so good. bye from Atlanta :)
